Huaizhong Xu

Originally educated in the discipline of textile materials, Huaizhong Xu has gained interdisciplinary experience in different aspects of manufacturing advanced functional fibres and 3D printing devices.

He received his PhD from Kyoto Institute of Technology in Japan, where he was instrumental in the development of Electro-centrifugal spinning technology and was a member of the Japan Fiber Society.

Afterwards, as an assistant professor at Kyoto Institute of Technology, Huaizhong Xu started to focus on the development of equipment and technology diffusion of Melt ElectroWriting (MEW) as a result of the exchange and collaboration between Kyoto Institute of Technology and the University of Oregon. Now, at Kyoto Institute of Technology, his experienced team will take MEW capabilities and control to another level.

Huizhong Xu has published more than 50 peer-reviewed research articles in journals such as Polymer and Materials & Design.
